Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Quality Engineer responsible for driving end-to-end quality performance for Johnson Controls’ data center equipment. Lead external and internal quality initiatives by monitoring KPIs (e.g., DPU, FPY, NCR), conducting root-cause analysis, and guiding corrective/preventive actions with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams. Implement robust containment activities for product lines when issues arise, maintain dashboards and reports, and support NPI projects using PFMEA, CP, and ODS. Collaborate to identify high-impact continuous improvement projects and apply statistical tools (SPC, DOE) to elevate quality delivery. Strong communication, organizational, and project-management skills are essential; travel is expected domestically and internationally. Preferred ASQ CQE certification and experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and statistical software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC/DOE methodologies
- Ability to communicate across cross-functional teams and with diverse cultures
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Preferred: ASQ Certified CQE; experience with Six Sigma, Red X/Shainin, Kepner-Tregoe; Minitab or equivalent statistical software; prior internal auditing experience
