Job Summary
Quality Engineer III leads continuous improvement through root cause and corrective action investigations, a robust CAPA program, and application of Six Sigma methods to improve aerospace manufacturing quality. Interfaces with Program Management Office, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues, conducts QC engineering reviews of new product design documentation, maintains the First Article Inspection database, manages MRB processing, leads internal quality audits, coordinates source inspections with customers/government representatives, and develops/upgrades Quality Procedures and Work Instructions. Requires advanced knowledge of AS9100/AS9101/AS9102, DO-178/DO-254, CFR/IPC standards (e.g., IPC-610, IPC-J-STD-001), ESD programs, counterfeit component mitigation, and data analysis; travel up to 25% may be necessary. Must be a US Citizen and eligible for ITAR-restricted work. Masters degree preferred; minimum 10 years QA engineering experience; strong communication and leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a quality assurance engineering role
- Experience with inspection tools and methods
- Experience developing Quality Assurance processes in a manufacturing and/or product development environment
- ASQ Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified IDEA-ICE-3000 inspector (Preferred)
- Experience with AS9100, AS9101, AS9102, DO-178 and DO-254
- Ability to interpret contractual and specification requirements
- In-depth understanding of technical documentation
- Advanced computer skills, including statistical/data analysis and report writing
- Good organizational, communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated team leader with the ability to lead continuous improvement activities
- The ability to work well with employees and customers
- Initiates programs to enhance supplier performance
- Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn production processes
- Working knowledge of FRACAS
- Understanding of counterfeit electronic components (IDEA-STD-1010)
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate Company needs. Some travel may be required (25%)
- Education/Previous Experience Requirements: BS Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline. Masters Degree (Preferred)
