Quality Engineer III

Job Summary

Coordinate work with Quality Technicians and inspectors, perform training on BMS procedures, and provide internal auditing support. Drive corrective action and failure analysis, participate in Product Readiness Reviews, and conduct process capabilities analysis on key characteristics. Perform internal audit activities covering quality management systems, purchasing, and contract review processes while building stable working relationships. Resolve diverse issues by analyzing data to determine root causes and implement containment, correction, and prevention actions. Review engineering specifications and customer contracts to ensure adequate quality requirements and flow down new customer specifications to all functions. This role supports the development of autonomous systems across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of related experience
  • Experience and a strong understanding of DMAIC
  • Experience and a strong understanding of FMEA
  • Experience and a strong understanding of PPAP
  • Experience and a strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience and a strong understanding of Gage R&R Studies
  • Experience and a strong understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001:AS9100, AS9102 standards and audits
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection measurement systems and their application for the inspection of complex products
  • Full understanding of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
  • Expertise in mechanical inspection methods and skills
  • Ability to collect, compile and analyze data (using the appropriate six sigma methods and techniques)
  • Ability to affect internal and external DPPM (scrap and rework) reduction and OTD improvements both internally and at our suppliers
  • Ability to communicate with customer and suppliers to resolve processes gaps and the ability to apply specified requirements in a cost-effective approach
  • Demonstrates proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
