Job Summary
Quality Engineer II responsible for driving improvements in transit-manufacturing quality. Lead 8D and DMAIC initiatives, champion APQP/PPAP readiness, facilitate PFMEA, and resolve quality inventory issues. Log and track customer complaints, conduct root-cause analysis, lead containment actions, and communicate resolutions. Perform process audits, Gemba walks, and support MRB/NCMR activities. Collaborate across functions (engineering, operations, sales, supply chain) to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement. Travel up to 10% to customers and manufacturing sites; office-based with shop floor presence. Relocation assistance may be provided. Requires legal authorization to work in the U.S. and may involve building, testing, and inspecting electro-mechanical systems. Salary range currently $62,100–$85,300; benefits include health, welfare, and retirement; potential annual bonus eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years in quality engineering within manufacturing environments
- 2+ years in customer-facing roles
- Experience with 8D and DMAIC problem solving
