Quality Engineer II

Job Summary
Lead reduction of non-conformances and scrap through process capability studies and root cause corrective actions at the Rexnord Aerospace gear manufacturing facility. Implement Lean methodologies and DMAIC to drive continuous improvement, while establishing metrics dashboards for ongoing visibility into quality goals. Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to resolve complex issues, maintain ISO9001 and AS9100 certifications, and support new equipment introductions with appropriate acceptance criteria. Utilize Excel and Minitab to analyze data for CPK/PPK determination and prevent recurrence of defects. This fully onsite role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, five years of quality experience, and proficiency in APQP, PPAP, and FMEA tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field
- 5 years of quality related experience
- Ability to quickly learn quality systems, e.g. AS9100, ISO9001
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings & geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to quickly learn the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools (including SPC, GR&R, FMEA, Control Plans, Cpk, DMAIC, First Article Inspection and Cost of Quality)
- Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
- Strong customer service orientation
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
- Background in metal manufacturing environment including metal cutting and grinding
- Demonstrated career advancement with increasing accountability
- U.S. Person status (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, individual granted asylum in the United States, or refugee in the United States) or a license that permits them to hold the position
Desired Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineering (CQE)
- Experience with Minitab to determine CPK & PPK
