Job Summary
Support production and inspectors on quality-related issues, including part inspection, layout, and in-process checks using mechanical tools. Develop PPAP documentation such as control plans, PFMEA, and balloon prints, while creating inspection plans, gage work instructions, and SPC charting. Perform process capability studies, weight studies, and root cause analysis for rejected materials, and maintain the QC project list. Order gages per control plans, analyze CMM data for PPAPs, and assist in fixture design. Schedule review meetings and assist with corrective and preventative action plans. Conduct training on inspection equipment, Minitab, GD&T, and quality alerts. Work with employees to resolve supplier and process issues, and backup the quality department for Phase Product Rollout when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of B.S. in Engineering or equivalent, with Quality as a minor or minimum 8 years of quality control experience
- Effectively communicate with all levels in an organization, suppliers, and customers
- Proficient with the use of: Micrometers, Calipers, height stands, and indicators, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and CMM capability
- Proficient with the use of Mini-tab software or other SPC software equivalent
- Knowledgeable with Six Sigma practices and statistical mathematics
- Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
