Quality Engineer II

Job Summary
Conduct internal and supplier audits, review engineering drawings for accuracy, and lead 8D, PDCA, and DAMIC methodologies to resolve quality problems. Perform detailed trending analysis of quality data in Pareto format, initiate Quality Assurance manual revisions, and advise management on quality concerns or incidents. Act as the point of contact for customer audits, providing requested documentation and information. Collaborate with cross-functional groups to improve processes using statistical tools and prepare performance reports on batch rejection rates and first pass yield. Ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and HSE procedures while maintaining the Quality Management system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in related discipline
- Minimum 3 to 7 years directly related experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of special processes
- Working knowledge of manufacturing methods
- Working knowledge of metallurgy
- Working knowledge of design and documentation
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Basic mainframe computer systems
- Familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software
- Certified 6 Sigma Black or Green Belt
- Certified Quality Engineer and/or Auditor
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred CQE and/or CQA certified
- Six Sigma - Green Belt certified
- Strong drafting skills
