Job Summary
Quality Engineer I responsible for supporting manufacturing and quality initiatives through process monitoring, root cause investigation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities. Lead root cause investigations (8D, 5 Why, DOE), facilitate meetings and workshops to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions, and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Operations to deploy effective corrective actions and mistake-proofing solutions. Utilize SPC and data analysis to monitor process capability, variation, scrap, and rework; identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve quality. Define and maintain methods, gauging, and inspection processes, update work instructions, train operators and inspectors, perform routine audits, and support Lean and 5S initiatives. Maintain documentation and communicate findings to internal and external customers; contribute to cross-functional efforts and maintain a safe work environment. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years in a manufacturing quality/engineering setting, with experience in blueprint reading, GD&T, and various manufacturing equipment; strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; Proficiency with quality reporting tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality or engineering environment
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting/documentation tools
Additional Requirements
- ITAR/EAR compliance required; U.S. person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) preferred or as required by export control laws
