Job Summary
Quality Engineer – 1st Shift in Sterling Heights, MI focused on developing and maintaining quality control systems in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include analyzing production processes to improve quality and efficiency, leading root cause analyses and implementing CAPA, reviewing engineering drawings and GD&T, supporting APQP/PPAP/FMEA/control plans, conducting internal and external audits, cross-functional collaboration with production, engineering, and suppliers, monitoring KPIs, driving Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement, and ensuring ISO quality standards and customer requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, CAPA)
- Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Ability to read blueprints and GD&T
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (a plus)
- Experience in automotive or aerospace manufacturing
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards
