Job Summary
Quality Engineer responsible for designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products; developing quality controls and documentation (PPAPs, PFMEAs, Gage R&Rs); supporting audits (ISO 9001) and cross-functional teams across vendors, warehouse, sales, and customers; requires strong math, prints interpretation, data analysis, root-cause analysis, and collaboration with internal/external contacts; aligns with GLI’s focus on quality processes and customer/vendor engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
- 0-3+ years of Quality or Design Engineering-related work
- Excellent math and spatial reasoning skills
- Ability to read and understand prints, assembly drawings, tolerances, and stack-up
- Ability to use engineering tools to create drawings, develop GLI capabilities, and use data collection and measurement tools
- Ability to write clear and effective reports utilizing formal methodology such as 8D
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills
- Team player who is assertive, goal-oriented, positive, and self-motivated
- Six-Sigma certificates (nice to have)
- Experience with CAD software (a plus)
