Job Summary
Analyze trends and determine underlying causes to systemic quality deficiencies, then lead improvement projects. Create process metrics, coordinate major production approval deliverables, and conduct internal audits. Lead corrective actions using formal methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analysis while evaluating project performance actively and upon completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop systems, coordinate PFMEA, MSA, control plans, and capability studies, and compile PPAPs and root cause analyses for customer returns. Issue, track, and verify root cause solutions for supplier corrective actions. Lead vendor surveillance and on-site assessments of purchased materials. Improves QMS documents including procedures and work instructions. Requires 3-6 years of progressive quality assurance experience and a bachelor's degree. Approximately 75% of time is spent seated at a desk; occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of progressive Quality Assurance experience
- Relevant industry experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
- Clear diction, correct grammar and acute hearing
- Corrected vision close to 20/20
- Approximately 75% is spent seated at a desk, working on the telephone or at a computer terminal
- Approximately 25% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about the work area, including in manufacturing environments
- Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
