Job Summary

Lead quality engineering efforts for flight and propulsion control systems by supporting product development through APQP, statistical process control, and design reviews. Manage data metrics to drive process improvements, perform root cause analysis on failures, and ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 and FAA regulatory requirements. Represent the customer as a Voice of the Customer for supplier quality activities, maintain the Material Review Board, and interface with engineering and manufacturing to validate first article inspections. Execute continual improvement initiatives using lean methods and mistake-proofing techniques while working independently under general direction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Quality/Manufacturing Engineering role supporting a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and inspection processes, including in-process inspection and dimensional inspection
  • Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, and tools
  • Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 or TS16949 Quality Management System
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the aviation industry
  • Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements
  • Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
  • Familiarity with complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Knowledge of AS9102 first article inspection process
