Job Summary

Monitor battery quality performance metrics, proactively identify and escalate emerging high-impact issues using process and warranty data. Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution by engaging cross-functional teams with a data-driven approach to ensure issues are identified and resolved. Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes and develop and track metrics for corrective action effectiveness. Create innovative tools to enhance efficiency and scalability while continuously developing quality standards, control systems, and supplier protocols. Conduct thorough inspection and testing of materials, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with specifications. Support the assembly team with battery pack and module buyoffs, conducting technical investigations to provide actionable recommendations. Formulate effective corrective actions for supplier, production, and product challenges. Participate in design reviews to mitigate manufacturing risks and lead MRB meetings as a quality representative within the engineering change control board.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field
  • Three to five years of pertinent experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering involving batteries or equivalent products
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • ASQ Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher
  • Proficiency in ISO-9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards
  • Familiarity with fundamental quality core tools including Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Internal Audits, APQP, SPC, PPAP, FMEA
  • Solid understanding of electric vehicle battery technology, general assembly, and thermal systems
