Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance across the production environment, focusing on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and root cause analysis. Key responsibilities include managing the SPC program, conducting root cause analysis, leading training programs, addressing nonconformance, updating quality documentation, and ensuring compliance. The role requires a College diploma in a related technical field, advanced SPC knowledge, strong technical interpretation skills, and proficiency in quality documentation and statistical software.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related technical field
- Advanced knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Control Plan development
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Proven instructional and communication skills, with the ability to lead quality teams and investigations
- Demonstrated experience in developing quality documentation such as PFMEAs, control plans, and process flows
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g., Minitab)
Desired Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification
- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing sector, preferably in glass or related materials
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards
