Quality Engineer (APQP)

Job Summary
Develop APQP plans and support product design by creating PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, and PPAP documents. Conduct internal audits to monitor quality compliance and address non-conformance issues while communicating project risks and performance to teams. Lead continuous improvement reviews, review contractual quality requirements, and support compliance audits and system reviews. Establish relationships with customers to identify issues and implement corrective measures, and assist in training junior staff. Ensure implementation of Health, Safety, and Quality policies. This role supports the Naval Defence industry within MacTaggart Scott's complete solution lifecycle, from initial requirements through commissioning and life support.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in APQP and core tools such as PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, and PPAP
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems
- Experience in a similar Quality Engineer role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- A self-motivated individual who works well independently with minimal supervision
- The appropriate Security Clearance as required
Desired Qualifications
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification
- Technical qualifications in engineering or a related field
- Experience with technical workshops, such as CNC, Welding, Testing, or Fitting
