Job Summary
Execute manual test cases, document defects, and track issues through resolution for Alarm.com's web and mobile applications. Assist in developing and maintaining automated UI and API tests while collaborating with Product Managers and engineers to validate requirements. Perform functional, regression, and sanity testing to support releases, review logs for issue investigation, and help maintain test frameworks and environments. Learn CI/CD integration and gain exposure to AI-assisted testing tools. This entry-level role offers hands-on responsibility in quality engineering for a leading security platform, suitable for candidates eager to build a foundation in automation and modern testing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 0–1 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, internships, co‐ops, or relevant academic projects
- Basic programming or scripting experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Foundational understanding of software testing concepts such as functional and regression testing
- Exposure to UI or API test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman) through coursework, projects, or internships
- Basic familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Internship, academic, or personal project experience related to QA, automation, or software development
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments
- Basic knowledge of SQL or data validation concepts
- Interest in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and modern quality engineering practices
