Job Summary
Conduct design reviews for flight and propulsion control systems, evaluating inspectability, consistency, and conformance to requirements. Manage data and metrics using visualization tools to report on product quality and drive process improvements. Analyze product and process failures to implement corrective and preventive actions while ensuring compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 and regulatory standards. Represent Quality on the Material Review Board and Engineering Change Actions, and interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure smooth production transfers. Perform continual improvement activities including 5S, Kaizen, and lean methods, employing mistake-proofing techniques to enhance the quality system.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or related field OR in lieu of a degree, 4 years minimum experience working as an engineer in the relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Quality/Manufacturing Engineering role supporting a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of mechanical systems and inspection processes, including in-process inspection and dimensional inspection
- Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, and tools
- Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 or TS16949 Quality Management System
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace/aviation
- Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
- Familiarity with complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Knowledge of AS9102 first article inspection process
