Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct part inspections of machine components and determine test result acceptability, holding equipment as necessary when standards are not met. Maintain inspection sheets, drawings, and check sheets while developing work instructions, checklists, and standard operating procedures for machine shops and engineering teams. Analyze plant complaints to provide root cause analysis using 5 Why, A3, or 8D methods, and check corrective actions for outgoing products. Perform basic maintenance on lab equipment, make simple drawing edits in AutoCAD or Inventor, and provide final sign-off and tagging of equipment prior to shipment. Support engineering projects as required and assist in developing quality control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Control and/or Continuous Improvement
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Advanced math skills
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
- Good decision making skills
- Problem solving skills / Root cause analysis experience (5 Why, A3, 8D)
- Teamwork experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, etc)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Small project management
- Able to travel up to 15%
- Able to lift 50 lbs
