Job Summary
Quality Engineer 2 responsible for managing supplier quality activities to FAA-compliant standards, conducting audits, overseeing surveillance and first article inspections at supplier facilities, and coordinating QA program plans across Gulfstream facilities. The role supports certification of suppliers, monitors audit schedules, reviews quality system performance, and provides technical assistance to resolve quality problems. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 4 years of manufacturing QA experience, 3 years in the QA department, and may require ASQ certification or an A&P license. The work is performed in a team-oriented environment with travel up to 50% and is split between Van Nuys, CA and Long Beach, CA. It includes interpreting blueprints/specifications, regulatory standards, and quality system requirements to ensure finished articles meet design and in-service requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4 years related technical exp in a manufacturing environment or repair and overhaul working with quality management systems with continually increasing responsibility
- 3 years experience specific to the appropriate Quality department work to be performed
- ASQ Certification as Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor preferred
- A&P license preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
