Job Summary
Inspect corrugated boards and finished boxes for defects like warp, crush, and printing errors while monitoring corrugator and converting machine processes. Conduct regular audits to ensure procedures follow customer specifications and ISO standards, then track quality metrics including defects, waste, and rework to analyze trends. Investigate customer complaints to identify root causes and coordinate corrective actions, while training operators on inspection techniques. Maintain documentation for certifications and collaborate with production, maintenance, and management teams. This role requires 1-2 years of manufacturing experience, proficiency in testing methods such as ECT and BCT, and the ability to read measuring tapes.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 1-2 yrs. Proven experience as a Quality Coordinator in the manufacturing sector preferably corrugated with knowledge of quality systems and testing procedures
- MS Office and database systems
- Able to accurately read a measuring tape
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills, both orally and in writing
- Follow instructions, ask questions and work effectively as a member of a team
- The ability to read, write and speak English
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of testing methods (ECT, BCT, Cobb test, etc.)
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma)
- Communication and teamwork
- Experience in manufacturing (corrugated/packaging preferred)
- Background in quality control, industrial engineering, or related field
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
