Job Summary
Monitor safety programs and initiatives regarding Environment of Care and Life Safety for Choctaw Nation Health System sites, including radiation safety, hazardous chemical inventory, and falls prevention. Conduct on-site tracers and environmental tours to check compliance with emergency management and life safety issues, then report findings and investigate events to eliminate future reoccurrences. Review reports from the event reporting system on worker and patient exposures, analyze Performance Improvement Dashboard data, and submit recommendations. Organize the Environment of Care Committee, prepare agendas and documentation for meetings to assure compliance with TJC, CMS, and life safety codes, and act as a consultant to keep department managers abreast of standard changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field or four years directly related experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local Standards governing safety in the workplace, including but not limited to: TJC Elements of Performance, EPA, DOT, NFPA, FDA, NRC and the State Department of Health
- Efficient time management-able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft word
- Able to process significant amount of research/reading and condense to a manageable level for staff training
- Two (2) years HealthCare related experience in Environment of Care and Life Safety
