Job Summary
Inspect incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials, parts, and assemblies against specifications and Mechanical Prints. Perform specific calibrations, tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations, recording results per written instructions. Initiate NCRs and communicate with vendors to resolve issues, disposing of rejected material as required. Conduct audits of in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations. Cooperate with production personnel and supervision to maintain optimum quality while adhering to company Quality Control procedures. This role is located at 45 Sutton Road, Verona, VA, with a Friday-Sunday shift from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Candidates must become CI/QAI and Liquid Penetrant certified within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Must be able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges etc.
- Must be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) certified within 90 days in this position
- Must be or become Liquid Penetrant certified
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word
- Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination
- Must have strong analytical skills and experience reading drawings/prints
- Must be detail oriented
- Able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs
- Able to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs and working in cramped quarters
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
