Job Summary
Quality Control Technician inspects work locations and contracts for compliance with client or company specifications, using appropriate testing equipment and developing project-specific checklists. Duties include inspecting safety, installation, and troubleshooting compliance; documenting results in data sheets and forms; preparing and submitting inspection documentation; developing inspection instructions and procedures; delivering feedback and supplemental training to employees/contractors; and traveling to work sites as required. The role requires high school diploma or GED (preferred), 2+ years of inspection experience in telecommunications, construction, or utilities, proficiency with Windows/Android and Microsoft Excel, ability to read blueprints/technical documents, use testing equipment (OTDR), and strong analytical and communication skills. Travel up to 100% is expected; the work environment includes field and office settings, with both independent and collaborative work. The position may involve other duties within construction or telecommunications as assigned, and may require passing a drug screen and background check.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- 2 or more years of relevant inspection experience from the telecommunications, construction, or utilities industries
- Proficiency with Windows and Android operating systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical documentation
- Ability to operate testing equipment relevant to inspections such as an OTDR
- Experience with a major MSO or Telecom Operator preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
