Quality Control Technician

Job Summary
Review project specifications and prepare submittals for various projects. Work with the sales department to review project requirements and advise on mix requirements. Perform tests for conformance of concrete on jobsites, including air tests, yield tests, and moisture tests for plant operators. Cast cylinders to provide history for mix designs and run trial batches to verify material performance and evaluate new sources. Test aggregate gradations for all plant locations and update the mix design program as needed. This role involves traveling to project sites and plant locations to conduct field testing and ensure specification compliance. Candidates must possess ACI Field Technician Certification and knowledge of the ready mix and aggregates industry.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- A critical thinking mindset, and ability to quickly problem solve
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements
- Familiarity with aggregate sizes and required quantities
- Knowledge of the ready mix and aggregates industry
- ACI Field Technician Certification
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts
- Will work outside at plant and job site locations, as well as in on office environment
- Will be required to visit projects
- At times this includes the delivery and carrying of buckets of materials, moving concrete chutes, shoveling spills and the like that can well exceed 50 pounds
