Job Summary
Test selection of materials produced to ascertain quality and monitor production to certify test results for contract procurement. Operate testing equipment and company vehicles safely while maintaining control charts and required records. Perform daily housekeeping operations to ensure a clean lab environment. Demonstrate knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, and crushed counts. This role supports Virginia SMA asphalt construction operations. Candidates will receive training if no prior experience exists.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Computer and data entry skills
- Skilled in operating quality control lab equipment and testing materials
- Demonstrable knowledge of aggregate testing procedures including gradations, XRF/chemistry testing, crushed count, deleterious count, basic geological knowledge
- Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking
- Ability to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the day
- Basic mechanical/repair skills
- Basic math and computing/technology skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document
