Job Summary
Conduct daily HMA materials testing including gradation, asphalt content, volumetrics, and temperature checks, accurately inputting results into QC software. Collect and prepare loose mix and compacted specimens at the plant and job sites for quality verification. Diagnose production deficiencies by maintaining knowledge of asphalt plant equipment and collaborating with operators on maintenance schedules. Document all testing clearly, maintain the daily results database, and ensure laboratory equipment remains in good working order. Communicate quality concerns promptly to plant management and liaise with paving crews and contractors regarding mix quality and production timelines. Perform aggregate gradation and asphalt binder property testing, adjusting mix designs to ensure compliance with job specifications.
