Job Summary
Receive and analyze raw materials by performing sensory and analytical tests for specific gravity, refractive index, and melting point to ensure compliance with specifications. Generate COAs and spec sheets for production samples while prioritizing approvals based on daily order reports. Maintain the QC laboratory and computer files according to standard practices, accurately recording finished product rejections and communicating updates to key contacts. Collaborate with department leads to resolve problem samples and participate in customer complaint investigations. Identify opportunities for improvements in QC processes and provide rework direction for salvageable out-of-spec fragrance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent
- One to two years work experience in QC lab environment
- Must have basics of olfactive sensory evaluation
- Compounding experience helpful
- Strong knowledge of lab system, analytical equipment and instruments
- Good safe handling knowledge working with chemical substances, hazardous material and regulations
