Quality Control Technician (Day Shift)

Job Summary
Conduct pre-operational inspections on equipment, perform line checks, and monitor settings to ensure compliance with product specifications and HACCP principles. Execute critical control point checks, pre-shipment reviews, and allergen assessments while collecting samples for sensory and microbial testing. Evaluate held products, suggest dispositions, and report deficiencies on raw or outgoing materials to Quality Assurance. Troubleshoot processing lines, verify production records, and complete all QC documentation with accuracy. Perform various inspections including room temperature monitoring, metal detection verification, and building audits.
Required Qualifications
- University/Bachelor/Diploma of Food Science & chemical or Equivalent
- Minimum one year of related experience, preferably in the meat industry
- Basic knowledge of CFIA SFCR, GFSI (BRC) requirements
- Attention to detail with good time management skill
- Able to work individual with minimal supervision and as a team player with 'can-do' attitude
- Good communication skill (verbal and writing)
- Good analytical skill and be able to take appropriate immediate actions to ensure food safety is not compromised
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Able to lift up to 25kg when required
- Flexible to work others shifts and overtime
