Job Summary
Perform receiving, in-process, and final dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to verify product conformance to engineering drawings and GD&T requirements. Develop, modify, and execute CMM inspection programs, including Calypso programming, while troubleshooting measurement issues and generating accurate dimensional reports. Support First Article Inspections, process validation studies, and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews by collecting data and ensuring equipment calibration. Maintain measurement system reliability through MSA and Gage R&R activities, driving continuous improvement in inspection efficiency and reducing errors. This role supports prototype development and production readiness at the new Centrifuge Manufacturing Development Facility in Oak Ridge, TN.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum three (3) years of experience performing dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
- Experience programming Zeiss CMMs using Calypso software
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
- United States Citizenship
- Active DOE Q Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Quality Technology, Metrology, Mechanical Technology, or related technical field
- Five (5)+ years of inspection or metrology experience
- Experience supporting First Article Inspections
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, nuclear, medical device, semiconductor, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting prototype development or manufacturing process validation activities
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
- Experience with Zeiss CMM Platforms
- Experience with PC-DMIS
- Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Experience with Gage R&R Studies
- Experience with Process Validation Activities
- Experience with Surface Plate Inspection Techniques
- Experience with Optical Measurement Systems
