Job Summary
Perform routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished product, ingredients, and manufacturing supplies while observing Good Laboratory Practices. Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on laboratory apparatus; enter data into computer systems for reports and maintain permanent records. Compare test results with specifications, advise supervisors of out-of-code situations, and recommend resolutions. Follow inventory protocols for chemicals and equipment, ensuring timely replacement or repair. Support the plant's GMP and Food Safety programs by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory. This role works on-site at the Argo Plant on a 2nd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM), with training occurring on the 1st shift before transitioning. Candidates must be work-eligible through E-Verify; visa sponsorship is not available.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Education
- 1-5 years of experience in a food laboratory environment
- High level of formal training on laboratory procedures or equivalent work experience
- Experience with production processes and procedures
- In depth knowledge of laboratory equipment
- Ability to walk/sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to rotate shifts, as needed and required for work
- Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft suite products
- Certifications in SQF and PCQI
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge in other software programs, such as SAP
