Job Summary
Quality Control Team Lead overseeing the QC inspection team in the TAP manufacturing area with responsibility for training inspectors, ensuring compliance with customer/regulatory requirements, and maintaining quality systems. Requires detailed visual inspection capabilities (including microscope work), coordination of team workload, data reporting of measurement metrics, and adherence to quality standards. Location is Newton, NJ with potential duties at other Thorlabs sites; expects regular production duties, documentation, and alignment with company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft products)
- Experience with Quality in an R&D / New Product Development Environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform extremely detailed visual inspections (including under microscopes)
- Ability to train and instruct inspectors
- Ability to organize and train employees to complete products within guidelines and time frames
