Job Summary

Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with management, production operators, technicians, and engineers. Develop and update the product quality documentation system while enforcing quality assurance policies, government requirements, and HACCP/GMP procedures. Manage and direct quality assurance activities covering syrup preparation, microbiology, sanitation, finished product analysis, and package integrity testing. Supervise Quality Control Technicians through coaching, counseling, and performance appraisal, while recruiting, selecting, and training staff. Investigate consumer complaints, formulate corrective action plans, and manage plant audits for housekeeping programs. Coordinate improvement activities, maintain microbiological monitoring programs, and direct sanitation efforts to meet production schedules. Track quality trends, implement efficiency plans, and provide quality improvement education through regular team meetings. Maintain all relevant paperwork and budgetary demands while ensuring fair treatment of all employees.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, food science or appropriate equivalent from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on work experience in a related industry
  • Carbonated soft drink industry preferred
  • Experience in quality control testing procedures and internal and external sanitation of beverage equipment with a clear understanding of all aspects of blending, product attributes recordkeeping, yields, etc.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft business applications and various reporting software
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Solid business acumen including management, analytical, problem-thinking, project management, business writing and reporting skills
  • Understands and can implement all OSHA required training
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Pass the drug test and the physical exam
