Job Summary
Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product requirements with management, production operators, and engineers. Develop and maintain the product quality documentation system by writing and updating assurance procedures while enforcing policies, government requirements, and HACCP/GMP plans. Direct quality assurance activities for syrup preparation, microbiology, sanitation, and finished product analysis, including managing mock recall programs and plant audits. Supervise Quality Control Technicians through coaching, counseling, and performance appraisal, while recruiting, selecting, and training staff. Investigate consumer complaints to formulate corrective action plans and track quality trends to improve production efficiency. Provide quality improvement education to the workforce and maintain all relevant paperwork and budgetary demands.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in business, food science or appropriate equivalent from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on work experience in a related industry
- Carbonated soft drink industry preferred
- Experience in quality control testing procedures and internal and external sanitation of beverage equipment with a clear understanding of all aspects of blending, product attributes recordkeeping, yields, etc.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft business applications and various reporting software
- Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Solid business acumen including management, analytical, problem-thinking, project management, business writing and reporting skills
- Understands and can implement all OSHA required training
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays
- Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Pass the drug test and the physical exam
