Job Summary
Quality Control Manager responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) for multi-state heavy civil transportation projects, ensuring compliance with IDOT/INDOT/MoDOT specifications and applicable regulatory standards; lead internal and external quality audits, oversee Quality Control Plans (QCPs), manage documentation and reporting, and coordinate with DOT project engineers, inspectors, and testers across states; requires extensive experience in heavy civil construction, strong leadership, and ability to travel to project sites; PE license is preferred and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combined technical and work experience
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on transportation projects
- 5+ years of experience in a senior quality management or leadership role
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects for IDOT, INDOT, MoDOT
- Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- In-depth knowledge of DOT materials testing, inspection procedures, and acceptance requirements
- Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, and regulatory compliance in a multi-state environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel to project sites across multiple states as required
