Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager/Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is accountable for coordinating and implementing corporate health and safety programs to ensure compliance with government specifications and regulations. Essential responsibilities include technical health and safety guidance, conducting inspections and audits, writing Accident Prevention Plans, and maintaining program documentation according to OSHA requirements. Candidates should possess high integrity and confidentiality, adaptability to changes, and a strong proficiency in data analysis and communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and at least five years of cumulative health and safety construction experience
- Health and safety, science, or engineering associate’s degree and Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than 3 minor moving violations in the past 3 years and no serious violations in the past 5 years
- Completed QCSM training provided by the USACE
Desired Qualifications
- A health and safety, science, or engineering BA, BS, MA, or MS degree
- BCSP Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification
- BCSP Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) certification
- BCSP Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
- BCSP Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT) certification
- More than 3 years' experience serving as SSHO on EM385 military construction projects
Additional Requirements
- Must meet minimum requirements for USACE EM385 (2024) Level 1 SSHO
