Quality Control Manager

Job Summary

Lead, develop, and manage the Quality Control team to deliver accurate, reliable, and compliant laboratory testing services supporting product quality, food/feed safety, and regulatory requirements. Oversee laboratory operations, resource planning, testing activities, and turnaround times while optimizing the LabVantage LIMS for data integrity and workflow efficiency. Maintain quality systems, documentation, and procedures; review results to approve Certificates of Analysis and support product release. Lead investigations into non-conforming products, deviations, and complaints to formulate rework plans, conducting root cause analyses and implementing CAPAs. Ensure compliance with GMP and food/feed safety standards, manage equipment qualification and calibration, and monitor QC KPIs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on quality projects and product commercialization. Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and minimum five years in quality control or laboratory management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Biochemistry, Animal Science, or a related scientific field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or laboratory management
  • Previous supervisory or people management experience
  • Experience within manufacturing, food, feed, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 25kg, frequent standing/walking, and exposure to typical laboratory conditions
  • Based in Johannesburg, South Africa
