Job Summary
Lead a designated Quality Control team to manage all aspects of quality control while ensuring compliance with internal and FAA Regulations. Coordinate Material Review Board activities and collaborate with Quality Engineering to communicate and execute manufacturing priorities. Foster collaboration with manufacturing to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs without compromising quality. Advise teams on design/change review activities, manage data metrics to report inspection performance, and participate in product quality and quality management system reviews. Support product and process failure investigations to implement corrective and preventive actions. Assist with the development and continual improvement activities to enhance the Joby quality control and management system, supporting strategic planning and execution of long-term goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related field (or 15+ years of relevant quality experience in lieu of a degree)
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Quality Management, Leadership, or Quality Program Management role supporting a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of mechanical systems and inspection processes, including in-process inspection and dimensional inspection
- Fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, and tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills
- Experience in the aviation industry
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements
- Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 or TS16949 Quality Management System
- Knowledge of AS9102 first article inspection process
- Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification
