Job Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician analyzes raw materials and production samples to ensure they meet established specifications, performing organoleptic evaluations and routine QC tests (e.g., pH, specific gravity, moisture, water activity, refractive index, etc.). Maintains detailed QC records, reviews COAs, supports batch release, and assists with investigations, CAPA, and cross-functional collaboration with Production, R&D, co-manufacturers, and Purchasing. Responsible for lab instrument calibrations/maintenance, safety, sample inventory, and proper disposal of expired materials, with opportunities for leadership in assigned duties. Requires high attention to detail, strong communication, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with FDA/USDA/GMP and State Food Safety regulations; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and participate in sensory evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in the Food and/or Beverage industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding of FDA, USDA, GMP, and State Food Safety/Quality regulations
- Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable participating in sensory evaluations (may include allergens)
