Quality Control Inspector

Job Summary
Conduct on-site pre-shipment inspections at local facilities, performing visual evaluations, functional testing, and packaging verification. Execute product audits on supplier-manufactured items and finished good out-of-box inspections as required. Provide detailed reports and photographic evidence of defects, then document all activities via logs and reports. Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to communicate inspection results, facilitate corrective actions, and drive quality improvements within supplier environments. Perform audits on supplier inspections to ensure compliance with documented QMS and product quality controls. Read engineering drawings and interpret inspection standards while using manual equipment like micrometers and calipers. Submit timely, detailed reports and photographic evidence of product, packaging, labeling, and defects noted for all inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Fluent English with excellent written communication skills
- Ability to communicate frequently within international teams
- Familiar with common international certifications (ISO9000, SA8000 etc.)
- Must have ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material lists and inspection standards
- Working experience with supplier inspections
- Working knowledge of various office software including Microsoft Office, Box and Video Conferencing technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with the following processes (PDCA, 5W, 8D)
- Ability to work well in independent and group problem-solving situations
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Must be able to meet deadlines within a global environment
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and must be willing to take initiative to drive for solutions
- Strong teamwork with ability to collaborate within global environments where teams may be dispersed
- Must have experience using manual inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
