Job Summary
Conduct inspections for materials, welds, and finished steel components against AWS D1.1 and ANSI/AISC standards. Measure part characteristics, verify bolt specifications, and ensure calibrated tools are used for all gauges. Document non-conforming materials and maintain thorough inspection records. Perform final inspections on fabricated components while collaborating with production teams to ensure compliance. Requires minimum 10 years of steel fabrication experience and QCI qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in steel fabrication processes
- Meets qualification requirements per AWS D1.1 – Section 8.1.4.2 (5)
- Training and experience consistent with ANSI/AISC 360-16 Chapter N.4.1 to perform final inspections across all typical company processes
- QCI qualifications include expertise in welding acceptance criteria, high-strength bolting, and erection tolerances
