Quality Control Inspector, Processing - Aerospace

Job Summary
Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined aerospace parts and assemblies using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM. Interpret drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance to identify product inspection requirements and determine adherence to specifications. Generate detailed inspection reports, analyze results, and initiate nonconformance records for parts not meeting engineering requirements. Participate in design reviews on cross-functional teams to ensure conformance to quality system objectives and provide technical support for manufacturing operations. May assist engineering with the qualification and validation of new tooling or parts and provide quality training for manufacturing personnel. Requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residence due to ITAR compliance.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- U.S. permanent residence (Green Card)
- Status as a protected person
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in machining or a similar program
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a CMM Operator in a machining environment
- Aerospace industry experience
- Demonstrated accuracy in reading and interpreting blueprints, planning, and engineering documents, quality standards, customer specifications, manufacturing control plans, including PCM, and other technical design standards
- Advanced mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide using fractions and decimal equivalents), familiar with geometric tolerance
- Experience in accurately reading precision measuring instrumentation, including mics, calipers, height gauges, tape measures, and other similar devices
- Understanding of nonconforming product
- Knowledge of customer and industry standards and quality system requirements, including AS9100, and FAA requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing (English)
- Regular attendance on-site at the workplace
- Visual acuity to accurately read mics, calipers, or other precision measuring instruments; accurately distinguish colors
- Visual ability to read precise measurements and part markings
- Use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards, measurement instruments, and manually examine parts
- The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or similar post-secondary or vocational training in machining or a similar program
- Aerospace industry experience
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques (i.e., Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process-Control, etc.)
- ERP experience
