Job Summary
Greet, direct, and assist customers while grading inbound and outbound loads to ensure products meet specifications. Identify prohibited items such as sealed containers and hazardous materials, then coordinate with scale and equipment operators via radio communication. Direct traffic effectively and use forklifts to assist with material unloading. Perform material sorting and separation accordingly. This full-time role at Pacific Recycling, Inc. requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with exposure to loud noise, heat, and wet conditions. English communication skills are essential for understanding instructions and emergency protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications
- 18 years of age
- Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet
- Dexterity of hands and fingers
- Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Able to talk and hear
- Exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, heat, and outside weather conditions
- The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to very loud
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Forklift certification (Preferred)
