Quality Control Inspector - Long Beach, CA

Job Summary

Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections throughout the manufacturing cycle, including First Article, IQC, IPQC, and FQC phases. Generate detailed inspection data sheets in compliance with cGMP and QMS requirements, preparing first article documentation and certification packages. Utilize conventional inspection tools like calipers and micrometers to measure products, interpret engineering drawings, and identify defects via visual inspection. Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies and collect data to identify trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and maintain accurate quality records. Report issues to leads and managers promptly. Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to all safety procedures and wearing required PPE in a manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using conventional inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Strong understanding of GDP, cGMP, and QMS requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience generating nonconformance reports and inspection documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience with pallet jacks and other materials handling equipment
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Manufacturing environment requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting, and handling of inspection tools and materials throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of precision measuring instruments, calipers, gauges, and other inspection equipment
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise, machinery, equipment, and varied temperatures; appropriate PPE required
  • Must adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times
  • This is a contract/contingent role
  • The pay rate for this engagement is $21.50 – $23.00 per hour
  • Compensation for this role is paid by an authorized third-party staffing agency, who will serve as the employer of record for this engagement

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in a related field
  • Medical device industry experience
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
