Job Summary
Perform incoming, in-process, first-piece, and final inspection activities to verify product conformance to work orders, travelers, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Inspect fabricated, machined, formed, assembled, and finished components using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, thread gauges, and other tools to validate dimensional, cosmetic, fit, form, and finish standards. Accurately record inspection results and nonconforming conditions in quality documentation, while identifying and segregating suspected nonconforming products to prevent unintended use or shipment. Communicate findings to quality leadership and production supervisors, support manufacturing by answering inspection-related questions, and assist with reinspection of reworked products. Maintain inspection equipment in good working condition and follow all applicable safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, travelers, inspection plans, and basic dimensional requirements
- Experience using common hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and protractors
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, forming, press brake operation, welding, finishing, and hardware installation
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter inspection results, notes, and quality records
- Strong attention to detail
- Communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, and quality personnel
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of quality control, inspection, fabrication, machining, sheet metal, press brake, welding, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment
- Technical training, manufacturing coursework, or related certification
