Job Summary
Conduct inspections and tests, documenting results to determine if quality meets standards per the Quality Management System. Perform in-process inspections to verify correct materials and installation procedures, then evaluate outcomes to accept, reject, or rework defective processes. Research contract specifications, regulatory requirements, and technical manuals to ensure compliance. Develop and maintain Test and Inspection Plans for assigned jobs while ensuring all equipment remains calibrated and operational. Requires 2+ years of maritime industry experience, familiarity with Navy and protective coatings standards, and proficiency with precision instruments and Microsoft Office. Full-time position with potential exposure to extreme temperatures, hazardous chemicals, and heights.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in the Maritime Industry
- Formal or informal on-the-job training in the Maritime industry
- Skilled in blueprint reading
- Precision instrument utilization
- Technical manual interpretation
- Supervision
- Written communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent record keeping and documentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards
- OSHA 10 (Company May Provide)
Desired Qualifications
- Industry relevant Certifications preferred, such as SSPC-QCS, NBPI or NACE
