Job Summary
Conduct thorough inspections of incoming electronic and mechanical parts, including cables, GPS devices, and connectors, while documenting findings and maintaining accurate quality records. Investigate anomalies or failures in the manufacturing and testing process, collaborating with engineering and suppliers to recommend improvements. Perform first article inspections on components and subassemblies, ensuring all procedures are followed during the production cycle. This onsite role supports Silvus Technologies' mission to provide secure, mission-critical communications for defense and public safety agencies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, or similar software
- Ability to follow written instructions and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or previously held)
- Familiarity with electronic assemblies, PCBs, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical systems
- Prior experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or production environments
- Experience with inspection tools such as calipers, microscopes, multimeters, or magnification devices
- Ability to identify workmanship defects, cosmetic issues, and nonconforming conditions within electronic assemblies
- Interest or passion for electronics, technology, aerospace, defense, or related technical industries
- Ability to quickly learn technical processes, inspection criteria, and company procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional production and quality teams
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Basic understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) awareness and handling practices
- Experience reading or interpreting assembly drawings, work instructions, or basic technical documentation
