Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector I performs inspection and testing of purchased materials, components and products in accordance with policy and procedures. Responsibilities include visual, dimensional and functional inspection and testing; recording inspection data; recommending changes to policies and procedures; documenting non-conformances in the Non-Conforming Material Review system; complying with FDA, GMP, ISO 13485 and other regulatory requirements; and supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The role requires strong communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work overtime as needed. The base pay range is $16.35-$32.65/hour, with a location in Sylmar, CA; travel up to 5% is indicated.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Experience - 0-2 years
- Experience with optical measurement equipment, hand tools, gages, pressure and force gage testing
- Training in blueprint reading and inspection sampling techniques
- Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO 13485
- ASQ CMI certification preferred
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- Must be willing to work overtime as required, including weekends
