Job Summary
Quality Control Engineer on-site champion ensuring all work and materials conform to contractual requirements, plans, and specifications. Develop, review, and implement the project-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP); conduct daily inspections of foundations, structural steel, MEP, and architectural finishes; meticulously document inspections, tests, and non-conforming work in daily reports; verify incoming materials against submittals; identify and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate corrective actions with superintendents and subcontractors; schedule and witness third-party material tests; serve as primary on-site contact for quality matters and collaborate with Project Managers, subcontractors, architects, and client representatives; assist in punch list development and project turnover.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control role within the commercial construction industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project submittals.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with proficiency in creating detailed reports and correspondence.
- Proficient in using construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid).
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
