Job Summary
Quality Control Engineer responsible for pre-construction QC reviews, technical assistance on quality issues with submittals and RFIs, regional QC compliance, coordination with GC/Owner and project teams, and leadership of QC staff within the assigned region. Key duties include contract/scope/specification review and interpretation, pre-construction specification and mix design review, project safety compliance, periodic quality compliance reviews, developing solutions to quality issues with project teams, and coordinating with CSI Operations manager regarding manpower and resources. The role emphasizes communication, thorough reporting, process improvement, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with concrete construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction management, Engineering or related field recommended
- Strong knowledge of concrete production, testing and placement practices
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes (ACI, PCI, TCA)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability
- Experience leading project teams and coordinating with GC/Owner
- Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and work on multi-floor scaffolding
