Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections to verify product meets internal and customer specifications, monitoring processing areas for foreign material contamination and equipment cleanliness. Accurately review products for grading, packaging, and weight compliance while collecting and tracking numerical data. Coach facility team members on Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations, reporting nonconformances to supervisors. Perform strenuous work in damp environments with wide temperature ranges, standing on concrete for up to four continuous hours per shift. Navigate the facility to inspect plant-produced products and communicate with management and USDA.
Required Qualifications
- Must comply with all Food Safety Quality Assurance policies and USDA regulations
- Must be able to communicate properly with all levels of management and USDA
- Must have minimal computers skill and/or be willing to learn company software to complete their job assignments
- Must be able to move, open, and inspect plant-produced products
- Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for up to four (4) continuous hours with a minimum of 8 hours per shift
- Must be physically able to navigate to all areas of the processing facility and follow all safety procedures
- Must be able to perform strenuous work in a damp environment with a wide range of temperatures
- Must be dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic
- Must be able to work independently and exhibit GOP values
- Must have the ability to understand and follow instructions and to learn the methods and practices used in red meat processing processing
- Must be able to work varying days (including weekends) when processing schedules change
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have close vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to speak on the phone
- Must be able to make field visits to industrial areas when necessary
- Must be able to climb or balance
